Panasonic CF-18 Drivers

Each set of drivers is compatible with particular model only. Use our Toughbook Model Locator to decide which driver package you need.

In order to reduce download size, MK3 and MK4 packages contain no drivers for Intel PRO Wireless. These drivers and utility program can be easily downloaded from Intel website directly.

cannot get the touch screen to work, read all the help and tried all the drivers etc…….
thinking that it might not be enabled in the bios I went looking there but my bios screen has a password which i have no way of knowing?

    whats the next move?

    can the bios be reflashed?

reset by removing the battery back up if there is one?

    Help???

  2. Thorp says

You may reset BIOS by disconnecting CMOS battery. You will need to remove bottom cover and motherboard to access it.

    • Sam says

      Art,
You need to install Hotkey drivers and Hotkey Application Manager. What is your full model number, i.e. CF-18XXXXXX?

  5. Dustin says

I dont now where to get the upgraded mouse drivers the toughbook is sayin there are no upgrades for it… and the hot key driver installs but they dont work. o and i have the MK5 plz reply bak or send me and email at YellowDB@live.com thx

    • Thorp says

      Dustin,
What it the second letter in your model number, i.e. CF-18X?XXXX. May be you have a digitizer model. For hotkeys and tablet buttons you need to install Hotkey Driver and Hotkey Application manager from MK-5 driver package.

      • Dustin says

its the CF-18ND and i installed the touch screen drivers and stuff but it still wont work and i stll cant get the hot keys to work. do i need the hotkeys working in order to get the touch screen to work?

        • Thorp says

          Dustin,
As i suspected, your model has a digitizer, not touch screen. Digitizer can be operated with special stylus only. Windows XP Tablet installs digitizer driver automatically.

Hotkeys need separate driver and Hotkey Manager application. These are included in MK5 driver package.

          • Dustin says

Is there any drivers for Windows XP pro SP2 for the digitalizer?

          • Thorp says

            Dustin,
I have found this driver on Wacom’s website: http://www.wacom.com/tabletpc/driver.cfm

Please let us know if it fixed your problem.

    thanks

    • Thorp says

If you have GPS installed make sure its activated in BIOS.

      • tanners2 says

yea its enabled in BIOS but still not working :(

        • Thorp says

Please provide more details. How do you check it, any system messages, etc.

For testing I recommend to install WinFast GPS: http://toughbookcentral.com/drv/gps/WinFast-GPS-Install.zip

Your GPS receiver sends data to one of your COM ports. Go to your Device Manager to see what COM ports do you have. Then configure WinFast. And, of course, you have to be outdoor to get satellite signal.

Hello, I have purchased a toughbook CF-18 via British gas which doesn’t have an operating system. I have an xp tablet edition disc but have no idea how to load it as there is no floppy or cd drive. I do have an external cd drive and mobile hard drive but I can’t see a way in the bios for booting from usb. It shows in the boot order Lan Foppy Cd or Hdd. I suppose that means loading by Lan. Yuk! How do I do that? I would much apreciate it if any one could help please.

    • Thorp says

      Peter,
Using F5/F6 keys setup in BIOS the following boot sequence: Floppy, CD Drive, HDD, LAN. Click Save Changes and Exit. Insert Windows XP disc and reboot your computer. On the screen you you will get a message: Press any key to boot from CD…

      • vagrantuk says

        Thorp,
Thank you very much. The problem was also that I wasn’t using a bootable copy of xp. Der? Thanks again.

    is it: MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4 or MK5.

Your model is MK3 version with digitizer. You need package #3 if you have Windows XP installed. Driver package for Windows XP Tablet will be available in a few days.

For those that want to know the CF18DD works a treat on Win7, google for howto:Install windows 7 on a cf-18 mk1 for more.
I also tried ubuntu 10.04 lts, which is great apart from the vid drivers have moved into the kernel and are disabled by default for the intel 82852 – download the alternate 10.04 iso and load in text mode, then google up 10.04 blank screen intel for howtos. Greets to all toughbook appreciators!
